Built To Last

The Cavenagh Bridge is the only suspension bridge and one of the oldest bridges in Singapore, spanning the lower reaches of the Singapore River in the Downtown Core. Opened in 1870 to commemorate Singapore's new Crown colony of the Straits Settlements status in 1867, it is the oldest bridge in Singapore that exists in its original form. (source Wikipedia)

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is a five-star luxury hotel located near the mouth of the Singapore River, in the Downtown Core of Central Area, Singapore. The building it currently occupies is the former Fullerton Building, which housed the Singapore General Post Office (GPO) from 1928 to 1996. During the dark days of the Second World War, the Fullerton Building was used as a military hospital by the British, before becoming the Headquarters of the Japanese Military Administration in Singapore from 1942 -1945. The Fullerton Hotel, in its current state, officially opened in 2001. (Source Wikipedia)
